"The Power of One was wonderful! Positive feedback was received from students and staff. The show did an excellent job of clearly depicting, defining, and communicating what bullying is, the various roles involved in bully, and the fact that each child can make a difference by not being a bystander. The acting and role plays involved in the Power of One were also outstanding and helped enhance the show's message and educational value. And the audience involvement - with six children actually coming up and participating in the show on stage - was both fun and helped the students remember the roles of bully, target, and bystander. The Power of One performance and signing of the Power of One oath board was a great way for our school to kick off “No Name Calling Week!”

"The Power of One program was presented to our school in two sessions. Our Kindergarten – grade 2 students saw the first show and were totally enamored. The students sat for the forty-five minute program on the dining room floor very taken by the actors and their very important message. They loved the audience participation and were very excited about watching their peers “act” characters in a poignant vignette. The grade 3-5 program was appropriately geared to a more mature and active audience. These students also were very engaged and interactive with the actors. As a school, the program left us with a very important message, which we continue to discuss at our weekly community meeting as well as the individual classroom level. Bullying is a very real and very scary social issue in our city. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to have the Power of One program presented at a particularly perfect time."

Recently our school had the Power of One production come to us in Fort Collins, CO. The actors were Emery and Gina out of Denver. I just wanted to say what a fabulous job they did presenting. Not only was the information completely pertinent, but the audience participation was just enough to keep everyone interested without losing them. Emery & Gina were wonderful in how they engaged the students as well as how they managed them as well, which can always be a challenge. Emory and Gina could not have been more energetic, engaging, or fun!! Our students LOVED both shows. Teachers are very impressed with just how much their students got from the 40 minute show. "The Power of One was wonderful experience. The show was well presented and well thought out and was truly enjoyed by everyone in the school. Our children and staff have all signed the pledge board and we have included some mirrors around the school with the" Power of One" slogan attached. What was especially effective was that the actors were able to incorporate some suggestion I had made to them ahead of the show. For example, we are a rights-respecting school, so the actors worked into the performance articles explaining the safety rights and responsibilities for staff and students. The actors also reminded students to tell their parents what they learned that day, in keeping with our school philosophy that children should always take their learning home. We really enoyed the Power of One and found it helpful and informative. The Power of One was a wonderful experience!"

"We had a grade 5 student come into the office after the Power of One was at our school. He explained how another two boys had given him an "extreme warning" that he couldn't be in their "company staff list" if he remained friends with a third boy.
When we pointed out to him that this was an example of "exclusion bullying," which we had learned about as part of the Power of One presentation, he said "oh yeah, you're right! That's not OK, they are not being good friends".
We spoke with the two boys who had made the warning and we used the phrase "you have the power of one to change the outcome of this situation" and the recognition in their eyes of how their actions had affected another, and what they needed to do, made it clear that the Power of One had made an impact."

We were extremely pleased with the presentation. It was relevant, geared for our children, very timely in September and it meshed well with the WITS program (our anti-bullying program).
The performers did an excellent job of reviewing the ideas throughout the performance and even the youngest child could understand the concepts presented.
We love that we have been left with a poster which we will mount in the hallway.
We are also going to install a mirror so that the children remember that they are the ‘Power of One’ each time that they walk by.
